The Ice Guard System has two elements and two functions.  The side rails keep ice from flowing over and touching the lower shelf of the rack; which helps regulate temperature. As of Oct 2019, the covers are now thinner.  Version 2.0 was .035″, and version 3.0 are .016″ (thinner than a fingernail).  Designed to fit the newer Harvest Right drums.

Description

The Ice Guard System has two elements and two functions.  The side rails keep ice from flowing over and touching the lower shelf of the rack; which helps regulate temperature. As of Oct 2019, the covers are now thinner.  Version 2.0 was .035″, and version 3.0 are .016″ (thinner than a fingernail).  Designed to fit the newer Harvest Right drums.  They sit on top of the rack, which helps facilitate a quick removal from the ice covered drum. This will accelerate the starting of another batch. The silicone hose helps the cable from getting stuck (slotted to slip over cable, flexible at -67°F). ​If ice is too heavy, you may need to do a partial defrost. See PDF for variations. Client pays for any returns.
